After an awesome weekend in Miami celebrating fitness I thought this would be the perfect timing to break my blogging hiatus with a fun recap!
This was my first time getting to compete at Wodapalooza - I have done the individual online qualifiers in the past (2015-2018), took a fitness break and had a baby (2018-2019), then did the team qualifiers for fun this year and we ended up making it! We competed in the Intermediate Team Division and it was a really fun experience - Just getting to be there, experience everything live, and catch up with old friends made it really special.
For a long time competing at Wodapalooza was a big goal of mine. After having my daughter I pretty much gave up on the idea that competing in Miami was even an option. Until my gym CrossFit 11:24 asked me to be a part of their team and I knew I couldn't say no. I am no where near as fit as I have been in the past (which was a mental battle throughout the whole weekend) but I am as fit as I could be as a wife, mom, occasional Crossfitter. I say occasional because I barely make it to the gym 5x a week now...usually less lol.
I spent 2014-2018 working hard in the gym to be the best that I could be. I felt amazing during the 2017 season. So after taking 2018/2019 "off" to enjoy mom life and spend time with my family I definitely lost a lot of fitness (totally worth it in my opinion) but it was hard not to think about while in Miami surrounded by literally the Fittest On Earth.
I was so glad to be there with our awesome crew of family/friends supporting us and with my CrossFit 11:24 team who wanted to go out there and have fun! The whole weekend was fast pace - eat, sleep, fitness repeat (my kind of weekend!)
If you have never been to Miami to experience Wodapalooza as a competitor or spectator I would say GO! The whole weekend is jam packed full of everything you can think of - live events with your favorite athletes #fangirl, vendor village with all of your Crossfit needs + more (say goodbye to your money), + loud music and overall just an awesome community of everyone getting together to celebrate life & fitness.
After having the chance to compete this year - I really hope to go again in the future whether that is as a competitor or spectator - Now I really understand why it is everyones favorite competition.
The memories we made at WZA2020 are some of my favorites for sure! Here's to 2021...!

There are so many things that you have to navigate in training postpartum so I would love to talk about things that worked for you or questions you have for me!
